I was also impressed with his totally off-the-grid electrical system: solar panels, wind turbines, and batteries (with a propane generator for backup :-) Worked great!
One couldn't ask for a more spectacular and peaceful location. Hosts Claire and Gary see to everything, including some amazing breakfasts. The property is completely energy self-sufficient. No TV, no WiFi, cell phone service if you're lucky. If you can't relax without those don't come here. Otherwise, prepare to be amazed.

Loved my stay! Charming house and rooms, great location, delicious and abundant breakfast. Owners are wonderfully friendly and helpful. Hidden gem in the desert! Would definitely return.
This is a lovely little gem in the middle of nowhere. It doesn't come with internet or cellphone reception or AC, but this makes it even better. The thick stonewalls create a nice cool climate even if it is burning hot outside. The owners are a lovely couple and took great care of us.
We stayed here in 1997 as we began a driving tour of the southwest. It was unforgettable. We drove through some of the most rugged, yet most beautiful landscapes we could have ever imagined. Near where many famous western movies were filmed. I highly recommend it!
